The stars clink together in today’s empty spaces. I feel rested and ready to be sunstruck, but pillowy skies have other ideas. Their baby blue matches my own hue, and they wave as they pass me by. I cannot help but to wave back, their joy infects me. It spreads, warm and exciting, through the tissue of my body, down to my socks, the laces of my shoes. I feel it sink into the ground around me, dashing to latch onto another lucky sole. What a gift it is to take a step below a mirrored sky, blinking new constellations to life, watching them kiss like raised glasses, celebrating my return.
